Your body is new every moment.
Dr. Tara King (PT, DPT, PCES, RYT-200) is a physical therapist with a specialty in pelvic health and chronic pain & illness. She has experienced first hand that a pain-free life is possible, with a little help from neuroscience.
Hello! I’m Dr. Tara King.
My love for human form, experience, and story has guided me from the dance floor, to the yoga mat, to a doctorate in physical therapy, and to running operations at Lin Health for individuals in chronic pain.
After 15 years of chronic pain, a chronic illness diagnosis, and spending tens of thousands of dollars trying to heal my pain, I found freedom from chronic pain through a mindbody approach and learning the power of neuroplasticity. Pelvic pain, low back pain, chronic headaches and neck pain, and SI Joint pain no longer plague my life … and in fact rarely play any part. I consider myself fully healed and pain-free, and have pain neuroscience to thank.
After sharing this work in the physical therapy setting as a pelvic floor PT, I quickly realized that I wanted larger impact. I transitioned into a role as head of coaching operations at Lin Health, a digital health company providing pain recovery coaching for individuals with chronic pain and symptoms. And of course, I continue to blog, teach yoga, and share pain resources right HERE!
I am an experiential believer that we can explore our pain to uncover the stories that guide us, and even ENJOY the process while we are at it!
Here Now Body
Here Now Body is a forum of blog articles, pain resources, podcasts, and yoga classes. These resources come from the foundational belief that by meeting your body in the present moment, you can overcome pain or disease and find lasting healing. After decades of chronic illness and chronic pain, the concept of my “Here Now Body” embodies the teachings of pain neuroscience and mindfulness that have truly given me back my life in a way that traditional medical models did not.
My Here Now Body is the book I read every day when I wake up, every time I choose to move, and every night before I go to bed. It is the story of my body, here, now, today. How does it want to move? How can it move differently? How do my beliefs hold it back?
My hope is that these resources are a jumping off point for you. My hope is that you will not have to endure the years of pain I did, and that some information, stories, and a little curiosity may set you free. If you listen closely, you, my friend, are in for a treat.
